Vol Pedal Constuction for Plex

I want to build a passive volume pedal (out of an old Crybaby shell
that I have) to be used with the Echoplex...I plan to use this with my
Ground Control to control MIDI volume to the Plex. Any idea on what
value potentiometer I should use??
