Are you on Mac or Windows?

If on MAC, amongst your possibilities are SoundApp
(http://www-cs-students.stanford.edu/~franke/SoundApp/)
to convert from Wav to AIFF format and MPecker encoder
(http://www.anime.net/~go/mpecker/) to encode the AIFF
file into MPEG-I Layer 3 format.
