Check out a Kyma system ( http://www.SymbolicSound.com ) :
    four channel (quad not stereo)
    up to 100Khz sampling rate at 24 bits

as they say:
"The Software is the Synthesizer...
...and the effects processor, and the sampler, and the hard disk recorder,
and..."
...the looper [my words]

Pricey but available now.
