Maybe you could do that with a laptop and Digital Performer using Polar.
You'd probably need to set tunes up in advance though, and it would be a 
RAM
hog. I heard a rumour that Pat Metheny was using Polar a bit like that but 
maybe
that was just marketing hype getting lost in my brain.

A
