Re: Sony VAIO and laptop workstations in general

I have a VAIO laptop that I used to do a lot of music stuff on. I haven't
as much recently because I bought an 828 that was supposed to work with
it, but doesn't. So now I do a lot more of my music stuff on a dell
desktop with a firewire card. I still use my vaio for doing stuff on the
road. It works just fine. I run a bunch of different audio apps on it
without much problem or too limited track counts.

If you are getting a machine just to do audio processing, though, I'd
definitely recommend a MAC over a PC. My next laptop will be a powerbook,
definitely. If you already own Logic, and don't want to spend the cash
for a different software package, I'd just get the VAIO. The only thing I
don't like about them is their somewhat dismal tech support (hardware
repairs I've done with them have been fine, but good luck finding new
drivers or anything like that).
