Linux looping

I've been wanting to take a look at Linux for a while now, and over the
past
few days I've downloaded a couple of live cd distributions that boot and
run
from a cd so I could get my feet wet. I must say, it is quite impressive
and
wonderful to be able to freely download an OS, burn it to a cd, and boot
right up into said OS with no installation necessary. ANYONE with even a
hint of curiosity about Linux should REALLY check it out. It absolutely
couldn't be easier. I found a lot of good info over at distrowatch

http://www.distrowatch.com/dwres.php?resource=cd

There's even a live cd that's optimized for audio, with low i/o latency as
a
priority. It's called Demudi and you can find it HERE ->

To stay on topic, I know I've seen mention of Linux based looping a few
times during my short stint as a list member. Anyone here actually DOING
it
and using Linux in some form to loop or make music of any sort? Please
tell
us.
