Re: What Ever Happened to the German Group 'Software'?

Well, I have to say, though, that SYN-CODE-A is on my list of all-time favorite albums. Followed somewhat further away is Electronic Meditation I. I just liked the sequencing they did. The early stuff had a very spooky, very lonely feel. Also, there was a very Germanic element to their sound, at least to my ears.

I actually had a contract with the group to use their music in a travel film I was working on  (and still am) about the Alps.

Peter Mergener continued as a solo performer and collaborator with other people. Michael Weisser never did anything musically useful, he just marketed the idea and made some big words about EM... once had the infamous interview LP he did with Klaus Schulze... what a heap of junk.

Subject: What Ever Happened to the German Group 'Software'?

I really enjoyed their early stuff (i.e. SYN CODE A, Electronic Meditation I & II and others). I haven't been able to locate any current information on Peter Mergener & Michael Wiesser (and, possibly, company). Internet searches that include words like 'software' always seem to skew the search.

Any folks in Germany know anything about 'Software'?

Regards, Pi
