erm, isn't the FP01 a switch,
the pedal is FP02

I have the FP02, it works the Vortex, but it's not linear so
it doesn't have an even response.
(check with your vortex by getting it to display 1-64 when the pedal
is used, for a correctly functioning pedal 32 should be in the middle)

The FP02 has non-standard wiring, and isn't a standard expression pedal.
100k log pot with wiper connected to ring of a "stereo" 1/4in jack

As it kind of works with the Vortex, it would, I guess, kind of work
with the MPX-500.

Might also "sort of work" with the Roland stuff, which I think will
expect a standard
expression pedal . 25kOhm linear. 1/4 stereo jack, tip connects to
wiper of pot.

No guarantees that the FP02 won't damage your gear, due to it's
unconventional wiring.
(but I would expect the chances of that are v.low)

hope that helps,
..of course, if Zoom also make an FP-01 which is a standard expression
pedal
then this won't help at all.
