This is exactly why my setup no longer uses a
traditional guitar amp.  In the grand scheme of things
it's just easier to use an amp modeler and put the
looper in the effects loop of the mixer.  Works like a
charm.  I recommend the Vox.

If you can find one, Johnson (Digitech) made some
killer amps that featured stereo effects loops that
also work nicely for such things.  I've got one of the
pure digital ones and I have to admit it sounds pretty
damn good.
