Now there's an idea. I also have half a rack space vacant. I am seriously
considering sawing down the middle of a Behringer patchbay and using half 
of
that. Yes, it will still work.

or if you can
find one, Boss made a half rack mixer called a an MX10, 10 line inputs and 
a
stereo effects loop. A way to harness all of those tone manglers perhaps?
