Make sure you look it up in the Duden (Standard German dictionary)

Although "musikantisch" is rather referring to the joy of making  
music than its technique - "musikalisch" much wider in meaning:  
including musical skills as well as musical terms in general.

In English: Can a person be as musical as a musical instrument?

Don't know. - But beware: There might be as much confusion between  
the American and the English as there is between the German and the  
Swiss...
