Sorry, I don't have the stomp box.
..but I also imagine as you do.

The Pro version will midi-sync, which is very useful for the random 
LFO patterns which are probably the unit's best trick.
The Pro also has an analog bypass option, but i don't know if the 
pedal has this.

the " Tron Up & Down" patches would be nice on sax, as the filter 
freq responds to volume.

Maybe the pedal version sounds better on the synth patches,
if it's a bit more lo-fi then it may take off some of the digital edginess
