I think the point of the original post got lost somewhere along the
way.  Ingo wanted a way to make it easier on downloaders so they
didn't have to grab so many files.   A Zip file of an mp3 may be
larger, but that wasn't his request.  It was EASE, not SIZE.

ZIP is lossless and comes with CRC error checking so if the files are
corrupt you will know.

Sure it can, but that's a pretty lame excuse for not copying files.
Haven't they heard of verification?  It can get lost writing to the
original disk fer chrissake.  What do they think they are doing when
they make CDs?
