That's pretty cool.  I suppose there are s/w VST's that have similar
capabilities - do you happen to know of any?

Take a look at the Boss SL-20 Slicer pedal.

I don't actually own one - the FX feature is built into my VG-99 and a 
number of Boss/Roland samplers..

But the stand-alone pedal looks pretty cool.
