midi volume pedal

can anyone recommend a good but very lightweight volume pedal that can be
used as a midi volume pedal (in my case, connected to a PMC-10 and used
inside of Bidule)? my Ernie Ball volume pedal is too heavy for travelling,
and my cheap blue plastic Italian volume pedals are much too flakey - when 
I
connect them to a visual gain control on my screen, their action doesn't
move smoothly from bottom to top (as the Ernie Ball pedal does) but it 
jumps
wildly back and forth. Is it because their potentiometer produces some 
noise
and crackle?
