Re: notebook non-recommendation for audio applications

I think I'm about to ditch the laptop as well. The older I get the
less I care about leaving the house for gigs and frankly at this point
who am I kidding? The laptop I bought for gigging or occasional
visits to friends for a jam has left my home a total zero times.

Now my general use/surfing laptop is DEAD. I'm thinking that rather
than replace it the money would be better spent on replacing my music
laptop with a desktop and relegating the old music laptop for general
use.

I'm just thinking of getting the best HP desktop I can afford (which
is probably only around $600) as a bunch of my friends basically said,
"10 years ago build saved you money and hassle. Now it just buys you
pain." This is a guy who's a high level IT guy too.

But your touchscreen micro axt... that sounds juicy. Can you tell
more about it? I can't seem to find much info on DYI touch screens
and from what I can tell getting the HP with it built in doubles the
price.
