OT: artist website functionality/designer reccomendations
Hi all,
I'm getting my marketing end together, and what's holding me up right now is the lack of a real website. I've registered the domain name, but I need the site built. The one thing I need that is a little complex for your average web designer (but I would expect to be very common on artist web sites) is a means to collect and verify a fan email address, and monitor fan activity.
By verify, I mean that the fan should receive an email to the address they supplied, and then they click a link in the email that calls my server back, and in this way the email address is verified. Naturally, I also need a way to maintain and interact with that list of email addresses.
Also, I need a "members" section that is accessed by using a validated email address for entry, and I want to record the number of hits per email address, so I know who is the most active on my site.
Everything else about my planned site is trivial from a programmatic viewpoint (i.e., news/blog, bio, images, sound samples, schwag store, etc.).
Can anyone reccomend a designer who has done this, or point me to some downloadable php or asp widgets, or maybe a hosting service that offers this as part of their framework?
