RE: komplete vs. ableton

Komplete and Ableton solve very different problems.  Komplete is a collection of synths; Live is a beautifully integrated environment for storing fragments of MIDI or audio and organizing them for live performance.  Live also happens to include some synths, with which you can get a lot of interesting sounds.  Most of Live’s synths are substantially different from any of Komplete’s synths, and vice versa.

You can use them both together.  Which one to consider first really depends on what you’re trying to do.

Subject: komplete vs. ableton

i know this is a really subjective question, but what are people's thoughts on the these two?  i'm really torn and the demos unfortunately don't really let you dig in and see what's what.  maybe for people who've spent some serious time with either...what are your praises and complaints.

i really like the samplers (kontakt and battery) in komplete and live.  i prefer mobius, so the looper in ableton doesn't matter.  komplete just seems, um, deeper.  any and all input is greatly appreciated.  all of this will run inside of bidule.
