Re: OT: Recommendations for Microphone and Archtop

BTW, this is what I ended up buying today:

http://www.audio-technica.com/cms/wired_mics/e6f7342e8d1ceed3/index.html/

I tested several condensor mics, large diaphram, pencil, etc (including
the
Audio Techincal ATM450), all of which willl be a disaster on stage. They
feedback too much. They are wonderful for studio, but I basically
confirmed
what I was reading from several classical and jazz guitarists on the web
regarding the feedback. Too risky.

I bought the Audio Technical PRO 70 Cardioid Condenser Lavalier/Instrument
Microphone. It was the only mic that did not create feedback, and helped
produce the natural sound of the guitar.

I also stumbled across an article that said many of the gypsy jazz guitar
players are using this mic with great success.

Thanks for all the input.

I will, however, eventally buy an Audio Technica AT4050 large diaphram
condensor, for studio work.
