Re: electronica inspired loops...

I was wondering if I'm alone on this... but... I don't listen to ambient much or electronica at all even though I play ambient/space/experimental weirdness.  About the only ambient I do listen to is Eno and Fripp.  I listen to death metal, thrash, hard rock, progressive/symphonic, jazz, classical...

i'm probably way late to the electronica stuff, probably didn't get into it until i heard the splattercell (david torn) remix disc i bought on  a whim probably 9 yrs ago...
i've had 2 aphex twin discs-which were ok i guess...(probably not enough guitar on them for me!)
i've listened to boards of cananda, autechre, chemical brothers,

the one who i like to listen to is Fennensz. i'm not sure if if he's 'electronica' or how he's classified. i don't think it's as 'dance oriented' which is what i think of w/ electronica,
but probably more ambient electronic sounds...and some of it starts as guitar stuff, which on his endless summer disc is sort of hard to pull out.
but the 2nd disc of his (more recent-black sea) there is actually a few bits where you can hear the guitar sounds...for some reason i'm drawn to that more where i think i know the source (or what i think is the source)--although i know i've seen live vid clips of him, just manipulating a mixer and pedals and creating sounds, etc....
