yes, the switchblade is the obvious, but expensive, solution

i used a simple passive headphone splitter in the back of my rack to split my stereo signals to my loopers like this - http://www.zingsmusic.com/product_info.php?cPath=242&products_id=2321&filter_id=

this should work for mono signals too

merging signals is more tricky, because you need power to do it, so i used a behringer rack mixer, but before that i used a MAM mixer (now terratec) - http://www.aulaactual.com/info/terratec/serie-sine.htm

any little mixer will do, of course

somebody makes a 1u mixer/splitter that will do both, but i can't remember who makes it. if it comes to me, i'll post it
