No.  This is the 2nd main drawback (1st being no overdubbing, it's a loop 
sampler).  Each loop is a fixed length.  The length must be predetermined 
before the 1st loop is made.  The loop length is determined by the BPM.  
The 6 loops are of different lengths, each being a multiple of one 
another.  So, at BPM of 60 (the lowest setting on the soundbite XL), this 
equates to loop lengths of 1,2,2,4,8 and 16 seconds.  This can be changed 
to give a maximum of 32 beats (ie, 32 seconds at 60BPM), with 
correspondingly much shorter values for the other 5 pads.  I believe the
