No, not at all. The effects in the Axe Ultra are every bit as good as the H8000--at least for guitar. As Doug said, the H8000 can almost certainly do more for studio processing, but as a guitar fx box, the Axe-Fx Ultra is good as Eventide's flagship, for less than half the price.  I own an H8000. I owned an Axe-Fx Ultra, but sold it to help fund some other purchases.

If you want a studio only box that can do everything, then the H8000 may be the way to go. But if you want the best fx for guitar + superior amp modeling, then the Axe Ultra is where it's at.

Fractal is right there with them. Line 6 isn't really *that* far behind.
