Re: looping soundcloud tracks OR another player to embed?

I'm so with Matt on this one - music asks to be heard, not commands! :-D

Virtually everyone has stopped autostart players now, they just annoy people - Bandcamp is the best site for widgets

most annoying things in pages are the background sounds, the minute you hear them you start to search for a button to turn the music off!!

dear loopers

i signed up to this list a couple of months ago, and have been completely overwhelmed by the incredible amount of knowledge that abounds here. so, i have a question:

i am in the process of setting up a blog and have been using the free soundcloud player which is very easy to embed onto any external page, and to have play automatically when people open your page, which is nice. what i would really like in addition to this is for my track to loop continuously, as in, if i could just lift a loop straight from the looper in ableton onto soundcloud, then embed and have it play, and play, and play, on my page (as opposed to manually playing/recording the loop several times to make a longer track before i export it).

a lot of (non soundcloud) forums suggestion adding loop="true" to the html code within the <embed> part, and i've messed with it heaps but it seems to just disable the player. from what i can see a few people have requested a 'loop' function from soundcloud, but not enough (yet) to make them pay attention.

so i guess my question is: do any of you know of a hosting site that:
-will let me upload files of any size and type?
-will let me embed a customised player onto my blog (of any colour!) that will play automatically and continuously?
-will let people download the track straight from the blog player?

OR

for those of you who use soundcloud and would also benefit from this function, would you be prepared to go here:

http://support.soundcloud.com/soundcloud/topics/is_there_a_way_to_automatically_loop_playback

and either respond or 'like' to help put pressure on the soundcloud people to add a loop function to their player?

many thanks =)

nat grant.
