Okay, how's this for coy....I hate it.

Well mostly.  There are aspects of it that I like, but overall I wish
I had not bought it.  The only reason I kept it is because there will
probably be a lot of Mobius users that also have a SoftStep and I want
to make sure they work well together.

The software was really bad at first.  It has gotten better I'm told,
and I'm sure they'll eventually get the problems worked out, but it
isn't all there yet.  AFAIK you still can't use it without a computer.
But this I can live with.

For me the big issue is the feel.  It has none.  There is practically
zero tactile feedback unless you're barefoot.  The much lauded size of
the unit just makes the situation worse.  The pads are very close
together and since it is difficult to feel where they are it is very
easy to press the wrong one, or press two at the same time, or
mistrigger one as you're brushing over them.  I frequently get the one
I want plus a bit of the one on the left, and sometimes the one above.

The response will be "well you just need to lean to *play* it like an
instrument!".  I suppose so, and I'm sure many people will make that
effort, but I have enough things to learn and I wasn't expecting to add
a footswitch to that list.  I'll just wear stiletto heels, accuracy
problem solved!
