     Tues. Feb. 15th . Doors open at 8pm . 1st set at 8:30 . $6

. 8:30 . Gorf is Michael Duncan McArthur; a musician, interactive
designer & web developer currently based in Toronto, Canada. He
has been creating and performing various genres of electronic music
since 2003. Most of his music is available freely on the internet on
his personal website. Michael has released the majority of his music
independently, but has also appeared on releases by Here's My Card
Records, Bitkins Electronic Music, Anal0g.org, Peace Off Records,
Black Pixel Records, and Vague Terrain. http://www.gorfed.net

. 9:30 . Chromosphere is the solo project of Kris Helstrom, an
alumnus of Digital Poodle and Kinder Atom. Chromosphere is
very little without collaborations. Past and present contributors
such as Heiki Sillaste, Gerald Belanger, Chris Drost, Bill Mason,
Roland Last, Andreas Gregor, Nate Leinert, and perhaps furthest
from least, Anne Sulikowski, have during their time, each given
something unique to "the cause" that has made the process of
Chromosphere more than worthwhile. The product of
Chromosphere is all too varied to start mentioning genre with
any authority, so it is sufficient to say that it is Chromosphere's
mandate to encompass any and all musical ideas of interest;
none exclusively electronic, nor exclusively sequenced, nor
concerned necessarily with popular appeal. Often set to beats;
dance, down-tempo or otherwise, and sometimes just a drone
sans any rhythm save perhaps a pulse to assure the listener that
it is indeed alive. Exploration seems to still best describe what it
is that occurs within this particular Chromosphere.

. 10:30 . naw . Montreal ex-pat naw (Neil Wiernik) who currently
calls Toronto his home, began composing electronic music in 1988
with explorations in audio art and experimental music. Neil's interest
in sound and technology has led him to a continued questioning
and refinement of audio tools and modes of production resulting in
experimentation with altered instruments, modified devices, and
custom software environments. Neil's music could be described as
warm, atmospheric, and cinematic electronic music. The sound
design of naw is firmly grounded in the rich traditions of dub studio
culture but can also be weighed alongside formal contemporary
composition. His music was recently described in "The Wire" as
having "...the kind of sharpness and clarity usually lost amid the
murk and decay of clicks and cuts and digital delays." Neil has
released music on various labels including noise factory and more
recently paper+sound under his naw guise and on elevation
recordings for his most recent ambient post rock project with
aidan baker as whisper room. http://www.phoniq.net

. GENERAL CHAOS VISUALS . After missing a couple of PiNGs
in the fall due to sick days, General Chaos Visuals will be back to
paint the house with light throughout the night.

. Between Sets CDs . "The Desert Inbetween", the new work by
Steve Roach & Brian Parnham, masterfully evokes vast uninhabited
landscapes. "Out and About" by Italy's Herion is the latest release
from the venerable "Hypnos" label and is beautifully crafted primarily
on acoustic instruments. In honour of Bob Marley's recent birthday,
we'll be spinning "Dreams of Freedom", Bill Laswell's "Ambient Dub
Translations" of his timeless music.

"Meditation Modulation Manipulation" by Sensitive Chaos

The latest release from ping things comes from Jim Combs of
Sensitive Chaos. "Meditation Modulation Manipulation" is a long
form dark ambient drone piece where the passing of time is
measured in subtle nuance and minute change. An impressive
departure in form from other Sensitive Chaos work, "Meditation
Modulation Manipulation" shows an artist expanding his horizons
by immersing himself in a different musical environment than he
is normally accustomed to, applying new ideals and forms to
new styles and spaces.

"Meditation Modulation Manipulation" is available for free download
as a 117 Mb Zip file containing the full release as a high quality
320kbps mp3 along with artwork suitable for printing. The music
on this release is copyright Jim Combs 2011 and may not be
used or reproduced without the artist's express permission.
