Re: OT A message of hope from Norway about their recent tragedy

Indeed, Norway handles this in a great way. I've been following it in
the news and feel proud living in the neighboring country. The only
way towards a better future is to meet terror with love and openness
in a civilized (democratic) way. "Revenge" doesn't belong in a
civilized society.

But I think your friend's friend made a mistake in that letter by
calling this criminal "the anti-islamic offender". The guy is a
murderer, he committed a crime and for that he will be sentenced at
court in a civilized way. I mean, civilized countries have laws to
minimize crime and ensure a safe environment for everyone, we don't
have laws to favor or repress a certain religion or political view.
This understanding is exactly what this terrorist - and others - wants
to blur! Not being cautious about using the proper words can lead to
unintended picking up on terrorist's propaganda views and spreading
them around.
