Re: Basic VST Audio Recorder for MAC

Any clip you record in Live takes on the nam of the mixer track. So if you have named an audio track "guitar", pipe some audio strem there and record a clip in any of that track's slots the resulting file on the drive will get named "guitar 0001" (or similar")

Well I'm not really sure if its avail for MAC but i use TapeIt vst. Its a very simple plugin that allows you to name your file first and set the destination save folder before you record. I like how simple it is all you gotta do is hit record and its very light on cpu. See if it is avilable for mac. Its what I use for my liveloopig vids that i post on youtube.

The recording function of Live is just not that intuitive to me.  I mean I suppose I could just create an audio track and pipe the signal from Main to it and record just that track.  But I don't like the interface.  I want to be able to name my file before I record and have some recording options in an actual recording plugin.  So I guess when you record, then stop, then record gain, it just creates a new file with a new file name (live set name with some ascending numbers)?   Maybe I should give it another try.

Why use an "audio recording plugin" inside a host application designed
to record audio?

Before I switched to Mac, I was using this Voxengo VST recorder in Live and
it worked well. But there is no version for MAC.

Anyone know of a free or cost based audio recorder plug for mac?
