Re: Boomerang III MIDI update (from TGP)

I bought the Octatrack with the exact same plans only after the pickup machine was released.

But I also found an Oberheim/Gibson echoplex and recently updated the ram and OS.

I'd still like to get the Octatrack working as a looper.

I'd love anyone's tips on it for sure

Ehm, yeah, that was the plan :)
Then I got lost in the busy daily life and had no time to use it properly.
Now I am much more free and I am soldering audio cables and from next week/year I plan to put myself with the manual and the octatrack on my side specifically for the pickup machine (the looper part).
Are you interested in the Octatrack?
Anders use it s a looper and can tell you a lot I think.
I will share what I learn, later.

About the Boomerang, Mike answered, copy paste I suppose, a bit scary, about that if something goes wrong with the update I have to pay everything. Well, in this specific case, being a beta they will not make people pay repair costs, just shipping costs.
Hmmm, mumble mumble...

Cheers

Are you using the octatrack as a looper?

Thanks!
Wrote him.
I still have the Boomerang closed in a box, never more used after buying the octatrack.
I am just curious to give a try to this OS.

"Hi,
This is Mike at Boomerang Musical Products, and here's the low down on our upcoming MIDI sync software release. It'll be called Version 3.0 and supports syncing to an external MIDI clock as well as the MIDI Start and Stop commands. When recording loops, they will be quantized to the nearest quarter note. The Stop command stops all playing loops, while the Start command plays all loops that were playing before the last Stop command.
It's technically still in beta test, but has proven to be simple to use, reliable and bug free. Email me if you want a copy with downloading instructions. mnelson@boomerangmusic.com
This software is not a general MIDI implementation, so there is no remote control of loop or Bonus buttons.

Merry ho-ho. "
