I just picked up a 12 step this weekend. I love it so far. I only ever need to send midi notes to control my software and I struggled to program the softstep to do that simple task when I first got it. I just plugged the 12 step in and it worked. Not as much tactile feedback as I would like but the switches are silent and I like them better than the softstep. Softstep also has a bug where it can't send midi note 0 that they haven't fixed for years now. Of course the looper in my strymon goes into record with midi note 0.I'll hold on to the softstep for now in case I want to do some crazy midi controlling in the future but I have a feeling ill probably sell it.
