during the years 1975-1976 i heard a number of recordings that i realize now changed me forever-- 'Agharta' and 'Pangea' by Miles Davis; 'No Pussyfooting' and 'Evening Star' by Fripp & Eno; 'Music for 18 Musicians' by Steve Reich. then in 1980 came Eno and Byrne's 'My Life in the Bush of Ghosts' and Ornette Coleman's 'Dancing in Your Head'. musically my whole life since has been an effort to distill the lessons i learned from these seminal recordings, and find the best way to combine their essential elements in my own expressions. Free jazz improvisation, ambient music, musique concrete, trance, pulse, loops, world musics... anyone else who is fascinated with these things is welcome to come along. collaboration is the soul of music.
