I use a Bespeco VM 18-L with the Vortex
it comes from Italy
it works just fine, I don't know how it compares to anything else.
it sweeps full range every time
the pedal doesn't travel very far physically, which is OK unless you 
wanted to pedal very quickly to an exact value
and it's probably a bit cheaper
