a more realistic (and probably less expensive ?-maybe) solution might be
contained in that new-fangled boss VF-1 ... it has a "slicer" effect in
it ... VF-1 owners: how finely it can slice?

taking out (say) 1ms slices every 3ms might make for something crunchy
at least ... if it can do the same for carrots and celery i might get
one for making salads ..
