I'm definitely interested in this idea.  I probably know less about C and 
Max
than any of you, but I do know what I'd want in a software looper.  I have
already posted a little bit about my desires; they mostly concern MIDI and 
MP3
files.  If anyone is interested I'd be happy to make a another summarizing 
post
listing my ideas.
