Eventide DSP4500 vs. Kyma

Did you Kyma fans look into the possibilities of the Eventide equipment? 
Although
not as open as the Kyma system it is remarkably open in allowing 
construction of FX
 in a PC based graphical editor. 

Does anyone elso out there have experience with the DSP4000/7000 series 
processors, either as loopers/samplers or as "plain" effects?
