Hey Mark, looking forward to reading your article on loop based music production. Do you know of any other discussion groups that would be useful for me to infiltrate? I figured you'd be the best person to ask about this.... P.S. we are going with "loop based recorder". We think it is a better place to begin building the bridge. People who understand sampling will get it from the term "loop based" but we want don't want to be associated with the Boss SP-202 and the like. It really closer to a 4 track hardware ACID which is coined "loop based music production" What do you think? If you wander the archives for the past couple of weeks: http://annihilist.com/cgi-bin/wilma/LDarchive You'll find though that I've been pretty vocal about a new product on it's way out to market, the Repeater from Electrix: http://www.electrixpro.com/ From the initial specs, it looks like it could be quite the machine. It's due out around November and will retail for US $699. Electrix is here on the list (the Creative Director, Damon Langlois) and has been answering questions about the box as best he can without giving away the farm.
