Do you have a MIDI interface for your computer? If so, I'd recommend using MIDI-OX ( http://www.midiox.com/ ) to sniff them MIDI messages! If not, I'd get one, even a cheapie, so you can check your input. MIDI-OX is PC based but there's other similiar Mac utilities to be found at ( http://www.harmony-central.com/MIDI/#sof ). Once you know your input, it's a lot easier to tell what's going on.
