What's Up with Carvin?

A while ago , I posed a quiestion about Behringer whose products started 
appearing everywhere.

I've been getting these Carvin catalogs in the mail. They also seem to 
have many products. They advertized a studio reference monitor  
(unpowered) that seemed interesting and relatively inexpensive. Some of 
their guitars look worthwhile as well.

What have been people's experiences with Carvin's products? I heard an 
unsubstantiated negative about their PA gear.
