i'd stay away from the vestax...but i'd look at fostex. they have a line 
of 8 and 16 track recorders that are rack mountable, and resemble adat's 
in form and feel...they have removeable hard drives, and are easy to use. 
a bit of overkill for 2 track, but when the heads go out of alignment (or 
the transport), you buy a new cheap hard drive, not an expensive (not 
always successful) DAT repair.
