Every Echoplex is tested for decay at 100% Feedback , for 24 hours before leaving the factory. This is with three layers of Overdub, but Overdub is switched off for the 24hours as Rik is correct in the reduced FB when in OD mode. We figured that would be enough for anyone, but I left one looping for a week once and my incredibly bad bass playing sounded exactly the same at the end of the week :) -----Original Message----- From: Rik Elswit [mailto:rik@well.com] Sent: 10 April 2002 15:57 To: Loopers-Delight@loopers-delight.com Subject: Re: new to LD - advice please on 4/9/02 9:08 PM, kevin gallagher at kgal696969@hotmail.com wrote: > Hi All- > > I am a guitarist who is about to buy the Gibson/Oberheim Echoplex Digital > Pro but I'd like to ask- When you use 100% feedback, does the original > signal eventually degrade like most delay units? > > Thanks for any input > > Kevin > > > > _________________________________________________________________ > Send and receive Hotmail on your mobile device: http://mobile.msn.com > > --------------------------------------------------------------------- If you use 100% feedback, you're signal will cycle forever, as near as I can tell. I've checked on mine after having it run for several days and there was no degradation at all. However, when you're in overdub mode, feedback drops automatically to something like 95% to avoid excessive buildup of gain.
