I think this material would be most useful if one were to download it into a laptop, or to print it out, and then go to a good music library where both scores and recordings are available. Although the author seems to be interested mostly in the classical repertoire, the principles he outlines can be applied to any sort of music. This on-line book is a bit terse, though. Many of his short sections could be expanded into whole chapters.
