Why splutter? Whether you like his music or not, Fripp's a big part of the looping world. The end. In my opinion, he's one of the only of his kind that hasn't gone all soft. He's a nice cranky OCD guitarist, and I still listen to King Crimson all the time. God Save The Queen was probably one of my first introductions to any looping. He claims to have never gotten a dime, or even a working EH16 even though they marketed it as a "Fripp in the box."
