Way OT: expansion

Fellow OTers:

I have an old reel-to-reel recording (my 1988 "Engines of Myth" LP) which
was encoded dbx type I.  Wasn't that simple compression/expansion, and 
can't
I expand the thing on the Mac?  The only widely supported software I use is
Cubase--anyone know of a suitable plugin?  Or maybe a cheap or shareware
dedicated app?
