midi sync


i am wanting to use an EDP and a jamman, or repeater to sync to midi so 
that 
my rhythmic loops and basslines will be dead in time with a drummer.  is 
there a suggestion for a unit that will control this process maybe 
rackmount?  if a drum machine could i use the drum machine or groove box 
as 
well.  how do i set it up?
