Wearing big ol' headphones on stage can be a downer from the audience's perspective. I guess I need to grow my hair out! Headphone.com offers an "earplug" style headphones that are very tiny (wired). The drawback is that it completely seals out exterior noise. That's great for airline travel, but not so hot for playing w/ other musicians. It's very possible with today's technology. You can get good quality wireless monitor systems for under $1000, add a small mixer and you're ready to go. The usual complaint about using headphones on stage is that it isolates you from your audience. Of course, some of us are lost in our own little worlds to start with...
