i don't think this is the issue...i'm in the process
of incorporating a laptop into the loop-a-riffic ROCK
BAND in which i play.  

sorry to harp on it again, but when i saw TELEFON TEL
AVIV, they used three tibooks, fender rhodes, synth,
and bass guitar...very fun to watch.

but the opening acts were both "playing" the laptop
exclusively...

...zzzzzz.....
