I picked up a Korg PXR4 digital recorder and it's really really cool, The 
frightengly huge amount of features built into a device smaller than many 
portable tape players seems to annoy some people (each button does several 
things and some menus are pretty labrynthine) but once I got past the fear 
instilling 100 page manual and figured out the functions I actually cared 
about it's quite easy to use.
