Read "A Child of Destiny" by Norman Spinrad. There's this fantastic section of the book where the heroine is on a planet famed for its psychotropic forests the size of Earth, where the pollen on its own puts you in a state where the plants themselves develop a symbiotic relationship with the people who get trapped in the forests.
