in a perfect world, this wouldn't stop the knobs and pedal working. sadly, it does.
slightly OT- I am thinking of designing a retrofit to the dl4 to allow midi clock to perform the tap-tempo function; this seems to be the least invasive approach to getting the dl4 midi-clocked whilst remaining on the floor and handily manipulable in a stomp-box sort of way.
