I have 2 EDPs that are connected via MIDI and Brother Synced. I use them as a stereo pair in the following manner: I have a Mackie mixer that has an Alternate bus stereo output. I run this bus out to the pair of EDPs and then take the output of the EDPs and run them into a stereo channel of the mixer (being careful not to have the alternate bus switch set on that channel!!!). Now I have several things plugged into the other channels of the mixer (either on stereo or mono channels). Now, when I want to loop something I punch the alternate bus switch and the signal from that channel gets sent to the EDPs (which, as I mentioned earlier, are always on the main bus). It's a really nice setup. I run processed rin gongs through it, I run Modular synth voices throught it, I run stereo synth voices throught, and I run stereo drum machines through it, selecting and deselecting what I send to the loopers. With careful balancing of the faders and application of the effects on the effects busses, I can get it so you don't even know when I punch the alternate bus button for a particular channel. Works really well.
